This gorgeous 108 bead mālā is knotted by hand and features 8mm polished Cream Opal, Apatite and Matte Onyx with a Nepalise Rudraksha bead and hand made tassel.
I discovered the relaxation of creating hand knotted pieces during our (New Zealand) lockdown and decided to share these special creations with my customers in the hope that you will fall in love with them as I have.
Mālā have been used for years as prayer necklaces The term mālā is the Sanskrit word for “meditation garland.” They were originally used for a special style of meditation called Japa, which means, “to recite.” ... Mālā can be used as a tool to help the mind focus on meditation, or count mantras in sets of 108 repetitions, but can also be enjoyed as a beautiful piece of statement jewellery.
I have spared no expense when making these mālā. I have sought out the best quality beads and thread, as I believe them to be a very special piece that should be enjoyed for years to come.
Due to the nature of the stones - each one of these mālā will be unique and handcrafted with love and attention to detail. I do hope you enjoy these special pieces as much as I have making them.

When measuring for bracelets it is preferable to use a dressmakers tape, however if one is not available you can use a piece of paper, mark the meeting point with pencil or a small tear and then measure the length with a standard ruler.
It is probably best to measure your wrist at its broadest, particularly if you are going to be wearing multiple bracelets. This measurement is your wrist size – not your bracelet size – allowance will need to be made for the bead sizes and for your preferred fit.
Once you know the actual wrist size you then decide how you would like the bracelet to fit... do you like to wear yor bracelets tight or loose. You also need to take into account the size of the beads in the bracelet you are ordering. If t
Like to wear something unique to you? I am always happy to make customised orders. Have you seen a bracelet that you like, but you want it in a different colour or with a different joiner? Please let me know! I enjoy making things a little different.
For longevity of your bracelet(s) I advise that you avoid getting it wet as this may result in a loss of colour coating to the beads over time. I also suggest that you avoid wearing your bracelets whilst doing activities that involve heavy perspiration. I select high quality beads, but they are not indestructible so please treat them gently. Some of the crystal elements may contain lead so please keep them away from children or pets. I use strong thread and the know is well concealed and hidden, but like most things, if treated roughly, your bracelet may break. I advise you to roll it gently over your hand when putting it on and taking it off. Tightly strung beads may hug the thread, gently readjust to conceal the cord again.
Wristocracy jewellery will arrive in a small fabric bag. I will happily gift wrap on request.
